SOLVEIG ROCHER

Solveig Rocher est une danseuse, chorégraphe et artiste franco-anglaise, elle est née à Montréal (1994) et vit à Marseille. Dans ses performances elle travaille la répétition, la mémoire et l’effacement.
Elle étudie l'illustration à Londres (Camberwell College of Arts) où elle utilise ses dessins en tant qu'enregistrements pour sauvegarder les choses de l'oubli. Elle déménage au Portugal et se tourne vers la danse, à la recherche d’une incarnation plus physique de sa pratique. Elle fait une maîtrise en performance à Porto (ESMAE) avec une focalisation sur les systèmes d’archivages in-corporés. Au Portugal elle présente ses performances au Musée d'art Contemporain de São João da Madeira, à la Bienale de Cerveira, au Festival International de Marionettes de Porto, dans la galerie Mira| Artes performativas et dans le Théâtre Municipal de Porto, Rivoli.
En 2019 et 2020 elle est artiste associée de la compagnie de théâtre Visões Uteis.
En 2020 elle acquiert le statut d’ Artiste-Archiviste en résidence dans le Théâtre Municipal de Porto. En janvier 2021, elle présente la collection de performances (“The Residual Pieces”) résultat de cette année de résidence.
À Marseille elle collabore avec l'artiste Niccolò Moscatelli sur la performance en espace public “Rozel” et avec l'artiste et illustrateur scientifique Arthur de Carvalho Wandeur sur l'installation multimédia “La Vague”. En 2022 elle présente “Naked Constructions”, un solo dansé, chanté et parlé sur la construction d’un solo dansé, chanté et parlé.

Solveig Rocher is a franco-english dancer, choreographer and artist. She was born in Montréal (1994) and lives in Marseille. In her performances she works on repetition, memory and erasure.
She studied illustration in London (Camberwell College of Arts) where she used her drawings as recordings to save things from being forgotten. She moved to Portugal and turned herself towards dance, in search of a more physical incarnation of her practice. She did a masters in Performing Arts in Porto (ESMAE) with a focus on incorporated systems of archiving. In Portugal, she presented her performances in the Museum of Contemporary Art of São João da Madeira, at the Bienale da Cerveira, at the International Puppet Festival of Porto (FIMP), in the gallery Mira|Artes Performativas and in the Municipal Theatre of Porto, Rivoli.
In 2019 and 2020 she is Associate Artist of the theatre company Visões Uteis.
In 2020 she aquires the status of Artist-Archivist in residence in the Municipal Theatre of Porto, Rivoli. In January 2021, she presents the collection of dance pieces ("The Residual Pieces") that result from this year of residency.
In Marseille she collaborates with the artist Niccolò Moscatelli on the performance for public spaces "Rozel" and with the artist and scientific illustrator Arthur de C. Wandeur on the multimedia installation "La Vague", inspired by the science fiction nonvel "Solaris". In 2022 she presents "Naked Constructions", a danced, spoken and sung solo about the making of a danced, spoken and sung solo.
